Efford FM July the 25th is a great chance to find out more about the place you live. Explore Efford Fort, avant guarde music, histories, personal stories, wild food walks, Efford Valley, High View School and more by tuning your radio into 107.9 FM on Sunday July 25. Efford FM is broadcast from Efford Youth Centre and hosted by various community members and groups. Listen in! Get Efford FM on your regular (non-digital) radio on 107.9 FM or visit www.effordtakeapart.org.uk to listen online. Text or write in! You can phone, text or e-mail in your thoughts, comments and song requests to the Efford FM station at Efford Youth Centre. Tune in to Win! Efford FM is giving away 2 iPod Shuffle MP3 players! Listen in on the day to 107.9 FM to find out the code you need to enter into our giveaway draw. iPods will be given away at the end of the radio day, so be sure to tune in! Community Summer Fair and Listening Day - Sunday July 25, 11am -3pm Come to Efford Valley for a barbeque, games, face painting, bouncy castle and a chance to listen live to Efford FM together. Friends of the Valley and other local community groups are hosts and everyone is invited to come and be involved. Monies raised will go towards supporting local community organisations to put on more events in the future. Love Parks Week is a national campaign which celebrates parks and helps to highlight the vital role that they play in our everyday lives. Starting on 24 July - 1 August, Plymouth City Council's Stepping Stones to Nature team is working with partners to support a range of community led events. From family picnics to health walks, woodland craft and nature fun, there should be something for all tastes! You will probably have seen these guys on the streets of Efford engaging with the public building up a trust between us. They are involving themselves in community issues in the area which has made a change to the way we all go about our lives in Efford.
Going wild about Efford! Saturday 16th May 2009
The sun was shining down on Saturday for the “Friends of Efford Valley” Fun day, the morning broke with a poor weather forecast and indeed it was looking pretty dull & dismal. The people of Efford came & with then they brought the sun, with many attractions going on throughout the day from the mini woodland Safari to a display of woodcraft. A positive attitude and what turned out to be great weather made the day a tremendous success. There were over the expected number of visitors to the fun day & it was hailed as a great day for Efford, bringing all aspects of the community together in one. A great start to the summer for the whole community.
